SCHOOL CLOSURE: Due to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, all Archdiocesan Schools will be closed indefinitely beginning Monday, March 23, 2020.  Please see the Parent-Guardian Letter 3-19-20 in the News and Events section of the website.

SCHOOL OFFICE HOURS: HSS office staff will mostly work from home for the next two weeks - the week of March 23rd and the week of March 30th - or longer.  However, we will be stopping by the school on occasion to take care of essential work that must be done on location.  That noted, I strongly encourage that no one drop by the building for any reason.  To give a last chance for anyone to stop by for a pick-up of whatever item is left behind, we will be allowing entry/pick-up/exit from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesday, 3/24.

WORSHIP: As the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to be a major issue not only in the United States but worldwide, the Archdiocese of Newark is addressing the issue with consideration to the best interest of all.  For example, Archbishop Cardinal Joseph Tobin has cancelled all Sunday and daily Masses indefinitely.  The following exceptions are permitted:

  • Baptisms, funerals, burial services, and previously scheduled weddings; however, attendance must be limited to a maximum of ten (10) participants, including the celebrant.
  • The Anointing of the Sick and Reconciliation will remain available, as needed.

Holy Spirit Church will be open for private prayer and meditation 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.  Aside from the obvious – e.g., following guidelines recommended by health and government officials – I strongly encourage prayer.
