The Holy Spirit School Student Council Talent Show/Coffeehouse was held on Friday, May 19th. The event was well attended. Congratulations to the many student performers for putting on a great show which was well received by a full house audience. Kudos to Mrs. Gianella (5th grade teacher/Student Council teacher-advisor), and members of the HSS Student Council for organizing an outstanding event. A big thank you is extended to the HSA for providing light refreshments for the “coffeehouse”. Ticket sale and refreshment proceeds benefit the HSS Student Council.
On Wednesday, May 17th, HSS 4th and 5th graders participated in Union Township's COED Track Meet. Congratulations to our 200 yard relay team of Ashley Grande, Joselyn DeSalguero, Cole Tatham, and Yarema Folk for their 2nd place finish. Congrats to Ashley Grande for her 3rd place finish in the 60 yard dash. I commend Laura Molina who stumbled and scraped her knee near the start of her race. Laura picked herself up and WON her heat! Thank you, Mrs. Mercuro (PE Teacher/AD) for signing HSS up for the event, and thanks to Ms. Gianella (5th Grade Teacher) and Ms. Morrissey (4th Grade Teacher) for supervising at the event. Despite the very warm weather of the day - all had a good time, and ALL students received a participation ribbon.
Adrianna Conde, Christelle Philemon, Kylie Sielski, and Sofia Varino for their participation in the Union Catholic High School's 2017 Forensics Competition. The aforementioned 5th graders represented Holy Spirit School in excellent fashion! Thanks to Mrs. Neuman (6th Grade Teacher) for registering HSS to participate in this event and for working with the students on their forensics presentations.
HSS's 2nd Trimester Honors Breakfast was held on Thursday, May 18th, in the HSS Cafeteria.
